Personality:
If you hear whistling around the corner, chances are, Philip's in the area. He's the cheerful, outgoing guy who chats with random strangers for the hell of it. A bit on the witty side, he has some funny quirks every now and then. He can be a bit of a practical-joker, but he's really nice once you get to know him. Annoying he might come off in the beginning, a lot of people get used to it soon, especially since he has a way with charming the ladies with his gentleman like manner.

A dominant side about his personality is his strong sense of justice and his desire to know the truth. He won't stand a person who's mistreating another one. Fearless, he never backs out of any challenge. The first to jump into the unknown, his curiosity got him into troubles more often than naught. When the situation gets serious, he rises to it responsibly and valiantly. People consider him prince-like in many ways. But prince-like as he is, what Philip hates most is being forced to do something he hadn't wanted. Because of the pressure, he developed a rebellious streak towards his origins.

Biography:

Years ago, the Lotherington family, the proud owner of one of the biggest property in Powhatan, held a grand party for the introduction of the heir. It was grand, almost accommodating everyone in the residential area. It would have been absolutely perfect. It was a mark in the family history.

Except for the fact that the said heir was missing. And where was he?

Down at the stables, naming a newborn horse "Samson".

At a young age, Philip has been given a high expectation to live up to. As the only child, it was expected that he will one day take over the family's business. The Lotheringtons' property is no laughing matter. Affliated with the Tenakomakah family, they share Powhatan's property, the Lotheringtons preferring to handle the livestock and animal husbandry business. Perhaps this was what pressured Philip to bend the rules. A lot.

These rebellious actions caused Hubert Lotherington fits of almost madness.

Throughout his childhood, the young boy would escape from formalities, preferring to run wild among their family's vast farmlands. When Samson, a white horse (with a bit of an attitude) came into his life, Philip had found a pet and a best friend. The two were rarely seen apart, even inside the mansion (much to the servants and Hubert's horror, apparently, and after that, the doors were significantly reduced in size.) Full of spirit, Samson wasn't Philip's only focus of attention. He had a talent for fencing, his athletic build turning him into an excellent fighter.

And it wasn't only those. During times that he would hide from "bothersome activities", he had taken a liking to hiding in the library. Now, Philip was curious as well. Oddly curious. When he had seen the mystery novels, it intrigued him. Under the books, he saw a different world. Stories that didn't end with a "happily ever after." There was only a big question mark, demanding answers to who might've committed the atrocity and demanding a hero that might come and serve justice. He felt a need to answer it. Curiosity killed the cat, but Philip was determined not be a feline.

The moment Samson had grown his full size, Philip had taken to wandering off by himself, chatting up the residents of Powhatan and making pleasant acquaintances every now and then while on his trusty steed's back. But at the mention of his name, they all treated him differently, merely wanting to make a good impression. His family's wealth and fame made it hard for him to make true friends, and he learned in the future that it would be nicer not to use his full name in introductions. He coined the nickname "Philip" for such purposes.

The thought of leaving Powhatan didn't struck him fully until one particular evening, when after returning from his locked up murder-solving expeditions in the library, he had heard his father making arrangements for his future between a friend. Confronting his father, he found out that he was set to be bethrothed to someone, in age as he is. Of course, he wouldn't be married until after a few years, Hubert explained, but he might as well---Philip, where are you going?

And with a simple "Goodbye, father!" he had rushed off. After a few hours. there was a frantic search for the youth throughout the night, and investigation showed Samson's stable as empty. The following morning, Samson returned sorrowfully to his home, a note attached to his rein.

Philip had seeked out his own life in the city. He said he would keep in touch, but asks that his father doesn't expect him to come home and get hitched any time soon, and that he would only come back for trips whenever he felt it.

Hubert had demanded a cup of wine, and had collapsed to the floor.

While all of this is happening, Philip had been happily whistling as he entered his new home in Lemures Apartment Complex, application for Balamb University and Gold Saucer tucked securely under his arm.
